Michael Kors Opera for the Monday

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Manolo says, it is Monday and you are again back at your desk, working for the Man, so as to earn your meager crust of bread. Worse, it is only ten in the morning, and already you have endured the first disaster of the week, as your boss has informed you that you had forgotten to put the new coversheets on the previous week’s TPS reports, thus invoking the petty wrath of the various panjandrums and poobahs further up the chain of corporate misery.

And so you boot up your computer and shout “Ayyyy!

Sunday Insight 3/30/08

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

I’ll be on Sunday Insight tomorrow with Charlie Sykes on TMJ4.  Let me go ahead and give you a heads up… my loser of the week is Paul Bucher because of his putting his conservative reputation on the line to support a unabashed liberal, William Gleisner.  Conservatives across the board have been tip-toeing around this issue in deference to the Buchers.  I guess I’m fed up with it.

Tune in at 10:00 AM.

Another Complaint About Justice Butler

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Here’s a new complaint about Justice Butler.

The request documents that Justice Butler, after having said he would not take money from parties to cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, did just that. Justice Butler took money from two board members of the pro-homosexual, pro-same-sex marriage organization Fair Wisconsin (formerly Action Wisconsin) while the high court is considering a case involving the group. Additionally, the request shows his interaction with pro-homosexual organizations and their efforts on his behalf.

“The record is more than compelling,” said Julaine Appling, president of Wisconsin Family Action.

Delicate Shoes of Great Cost

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Manolo says, the Manolo’s friend Linda Grant has recently purchased these Dolce & Gabbana shoes (in black patent), which sadly, have not withstood the test of (short) time and London streets.

I mentioned last week that I had bought a pair of Dolce & Gabbana shoes. I wore them for the first time on Thursday. When I got home the leather on the soles was pitted and worn away. I was going to take them back to Harvey Nichols for a refund but first went into my excellent local shoe repairers for an opinion.

Budget Repair Agreement Coming Soon?

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

I’m not sure what to make of this.

Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch said today in an interview with WisconsinEye that an agreement on a budget repair bill is days away.

Carrie Lynch, spokeswoman for Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker, didn’t throw water on the enthusiasm.

“We’re pretty optimistic too, and we’re talking with Huebsch folks and the governor’s folks and hoping something happens very quickly,” she said.

The only way for an agreement to come soon is if one side or the other was capitulating.  I have the uneasy feeling that it’s our side.
